There are only a few of my projects that I hold "near and dear". Most are enjoyable to work on, but for Area Rides it is much, much more. The others can sit unchanged or unattended for years, but this one I feel I must constantly improve upon. The big changes are still planned, but these will require my barricading myself in a room and with 100% focus attack the big overhauls. Many of the items on the "Big To-Do List" are just that. BIG. But in the meantime, I continue to improve even if the changes are small...

Area Rides is planning a no-holds-barred, balls out video for the last event of the 2012 car show season. The final video will be a compilation of local car related content providers' work. All of the Saint Louis photographers and videographers (that I know of) have been contacted and a few have already joined in. If you know of anyone else who may be interested let them know and have them contact me.

The Chop Rod Ramble at The Atomic Cowboy on November 10^th is, so far, the last offical automotive event of the 2012 season. It begins at 2:00 p.m. and will go to 2:00 a.m. The adjencent road will be blocked off and filled with cars and bikes galore. Many bands will be performing the entire time and different stages.

Though many shows this weekend are going to go on rain or shine, Area Rides will not. One can weather proof a camera to some degree and it is fairly inexpensive. However, who wants to risk it using a cheap solution? I do have a list of rainy day projects for Area Rides and will work on those. 

The scale section now filters through to the front page as well as the rest. You can still navigate to each section as before. There will just be more found on the home page. And the whole scale section should be much bigger than it was in the past.

Keen observers will notice a few features have been dropped. Have no fear, not all will stay that way. It is just that some of the features were not widely used. Having them on the site meant they just got in the way. They were not update as frequently and I will focus more on the meat and potatoes of the site. 

Area Rides is now mobile!

The Area Rides Mobile App is nearly complete. Most of the features are included, but there is still a little tweaking needed. But you can download and install the App on your smart phone now. Just navigate your device's browser to AreaRides.com and it should switch over automagically. But not everything will be on the mobile app. You will still have to view the site for more. Yet there are extra features the App will have that will come in handy.

There's been a slight change in the weblinks section. StL Tracks/Courses has been added. Many of the included items were tracks and courses so they needed their own section. The StL Racing will now be for racing groups, teams, media creators, organizers, local sanctioning bodies and more - just about anything else racing. It is a small change but a sound one.
